Official Name: Megaskepasma erythrochlamys
This shrub is a real stunner that can be used as an eye-catching specimen plant, or it can even be grown even as a hedge. The beautiful flower spikes are actually fluffy red flower bracts that contain small white blossoms, very similar to bougainvillea. Butterflies and hummingbirds are attracted to its nectar. Protect from freezing while small in areas north of USDA Zone 9B. Plants are 11-18″ from the soil line. This plants is best shipped with some soil on the roots to lessen root shock–hence shipping will be a little higher due to weight.
